A referral is not required, but if you do not have symptoms or are unsure whether you need a COVID-19 test, please call either your primary care doctor or 877-9NOVANT before traveling to a screening center. You can also take our online assessment.

Know before you go: important information
- Appointments are available to reduce your wait time, but not required. You may drive-up without an appointment during operating hours.
- Novant Health Screening Centers are scheduled to close at 3 p.m. Please note that in times of high volume, screening centers may need to stop receiving new patients before 3 p.m. to accommodate the large number of people who are already in line for testing.
- Novant Health GoHealth Urgent Care has several designated COVID-19 testing locations with extended hours and weekend availability, should you need testing after screening centers have closed for the day. Hold your place online to reduce your wait time.
- Asymptomatic patients may not be eligible for testing. If you are unsure of whether you need a COVID-19 test, please call either your primary care doctor or 877-9NOVANT before traveling to a screening center. You can also take our online assessment.

Clinics
We are resuming some services
Novant Health is resuming some nonurgent services. Clinics will reinstate appointments that were previously delayed by phasing in visits. Our teams will contact patients to begin rescheduling appointments. Your health and well-being is always our first priority, and we’re taking extra steps to deliver the safest care possible.

Updated hours and temporary closures
Please note, some Novant Health locations may continue to have modified hours or may be temporarily closed. Virtual visits and alternative care locations may be available. Please call your doctor's office to verify your appointment before leaving home for medical care.
Masking in clinics
Our team members are wearing masks to protect our patients and our communities. We will also utilize social distancing and strict cleaning protocols to keep our clinics safe.
Per CDC guidance, we ask that all patients come to their appointments with a cloth mask or face covering. Patients without a mask will be provided one. Learn more »
Visitor restrictions
To protect the health and safety of our patients and team members, Novant Health is limiting the number of visitors that come with patients to its ambulatory clinics:
- Patients 65 and older or under 18 may only bring one visitor with them to their appointment.
- Patients between the ages of 18 and 64 should contact their clinic for specific guidance on visitors.
- Visitors must be 18 or older and healthy (no cough, fever or flu-like symptoms).
- Visitors will complete a routine screening questionnaire with temperature assessment and must wear a mask for the duration of the visit.
- Visitors will be asked to wait in the exam room with the patient.
- Exceptions may be granted for patients who require special assistance to access care.
Please note: Additional visitor guidelines apply at our women's health clinics and Cancer Institute clinics.
